East Central University's next president is the Oklahoma school's current university provost and vice president of academic affairs.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Friday vacated a sentence of life without parole for Chancey Luna who was convicted in the murder of East Central University baseball player Christopher Lane. 

A bill that backers say closes a small but potentially dangerous loophole in the state’s criminal justice law has passed in the Legislature and now goes to the governor’s desk.

An Oklahoma mother's son was kidnapped and killed by a fellow classmate. Jerrod Murray confessed to the killing, but was later found not guilty by reason of insanity. Now, Jeana West is fighting to change that plea option for future violent offenders with a new bill. 

In December 2012, 18-year-old Generro Sanchez was shot and killed in Pottawatomie County by a man who told police he did it because he wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone.
